Spees Design Build provided construction documents for the design and construction of a new Police Building at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. As the Architect/Engineer (A/E) of record, our services included providing all necessary due diligence work, including survey and evaluation, calculations, working drawings, cost estimates, and construction period services necessary for this project at the Greater Los Angeles Health Care System – in accordance with the items specified in the Statement of Work.

This project comprised construction of a new 18,000 square-ft. Police Building with at least 56 surface parking spaces including 50 spaces with secure and controlled access for Police and Employees and site development as needed. A/E documents incorporated all the departmental functions including but not limited to conference room, staff offices, armory and facilities, holding facilities, sally port for at least one squad car, kennel for police dogs, high level security areas, male and female restrooms with showers, locker rooms, dispatch, training facility, exercise facilities, criminal investigation division, dining area, and required ancillary spaces that all meet current safety and barrier security requirements. The building requirements included a back-up generator and fiber optics network and also required a new radio antenna tower for police radios.
